Analysis on the Drunk Driving commercial

This commercial ad is meant to encourage young teenagers to take more precaution when on the road and stop drunk driving. The video portrays a bunch a teenagers in a car driving and having fun with no one having their eyes on the road . This is one of the main reasons why millions of accidents happen annually . The voice is an English lady, a very sweet voice . the effects aren't as scary if it were a much deeper voice. Towards the end , it shows the unfortunate results which makes you want to think twice before getting on the road.

Analysis of Fear ads

I think that Fear is a legitimate tactic in election campaigns. Fear sometimes and most of the time isn’t true and are made up to make voters scared and change their view on a elected official. Both Barack Obama and John McCain use fear techniques to slander each other. Obama disparages McCain by saying that him and his Republican party are hypocritical and they just want your vote and they continue to follow George Bush’s regime. Similarly John McCain , attacks Obama on how he lied through most of his promises, that he promised for a change but did nothing .Obama's new imposed taxes and health care mandate will kill jobs and that will be extremely risky for small business and kill jobs.

Summary of - The Early Word: The Cost of Going Negative

I think that the role of negative advertisement is bad and wrong. Instead of criticizing others about how they run their campaign or slogan and attacking them , just focus on what you are running for, and try to improve it in any way possible. Yes, some negative advertising can be done but not to the extreme. For ex, elected official John McCain ,in this New York times article states that he spent more time attacking than actually focusing on his campaign and trying to raise more money.
